Earlier this fall, TPA notified members that the Tennessee Board of Pharmacy had revised Rule 1140-15, which authorizes pharmacists to prescribe and dispense hormonal contraceptives in specific circumstances. TPA is pleased to offer the following training program and resources to assist pharmacists who wish to expand their practice to provide this service.
The Tennessee Pharmacists Association (TPA) is excited to announce the release of its Pharmacist-Provided Hormonal Contraceptive Training Program. This Tennessee-specific, pharmacist-focused hormonal contraceptive training program is approved by the Tennessee Board of Pharmacy and was developed with support from the schools and colleges of pharmacy in Tennessee. The training program includes an overview of Tennessee state requirements, a clinical update and review of hormonal contraceptives, and an explanation of the Tennessee-specific forms that are required by the Tennessee Department of Health.
